With more than 2,400 members, the San Antonio CPA Society is the third largest chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TXCPA).

Our mission statement involves

  • Supporting professional activities to advance the accounting profession
  • Protecting the interests of our members and of the general public
  • Acting in a representative capacity for the profession

Members of the San Antonio CPA Society are financial and community leaders throughout our 21-county region, which extends from Laredo to Seguin and Adkins to Zapata.

Professionally, 48% of our members practice public accounting, which encompasses auditing, taxation and business consulting. Approximately 42% are members in industry, government and education (Business & Industry, also known as B&I), and 10% are student and candidate affiliate members, studying and working to become CPAs.  A new initiative begun in the 2009-10 fiscal year, CPA Leadership Advantage seeks to assist relatively new CPAs in acquiring the leadership skills to move ahead while serving their community and profession.

Through the San Antonio CPA Continuing Education Foundation, we provide top quality, affordable Continuing Education for CPAs and their staff members and support the programs of the TXCPA CPE Foundation. The CE Foundation also works to support the accounting programs of area universities, provides funding for accounting scholarships and coordinates speakers for college-level business classes and career fairs. Financial Literacy Committee volunteers provide training in financial management for nonprofit organizations and various community groups and sponsor a personal finance case high school competition, known as Jr. Duel in Ol’ San Antonio.

Within the community, the San Antonio CPA Society is dedicated to supporting service projects such as Blue Santa and various community outreach programs.  Annually, our members organize and sponsor Funlympics, providing a day of fun, prizes and picnic lunch plus school supplies for more than 250 of San Antonio’s at-risk children.
