This session will discuss
- recent tax developments involving crypto currency from an income tax perspective
- recent IRS position regarding charitable contributions of crypto currency
- charities’ reporting responsibilities upon receipt of crypto currency
- investment policies nonprofits may need to be aware of when they are approached regarding a contribution of crypto currency to their charity
This session is important to tax preparers and advisors who have clients that engage in crypto currency as well as nonprofits in terms of policy development when they are approached regarding a contribution of crypto currency to their charity.
Course Objective(s): Participants will better understand tax laws regarding crypto currency as well understand rules regarding charitable donations of crypto currency to nonprofits.
Prerequisites: The method of presentation is group-live instruction and the program level is overview/update. There are no prerequisites for this course nor is there any advanced preparation required.
