We get feedback all the time: people who honk their car horns, kids who slam doors, bosses who critique performance. For a variety of reasons, we aren’t always equipped to handle it, even if it is fair, valid and useful.
As leaders, our employees are in the same boat: not ready to hear your well-intentioned or even well-delivered feedback.
This course will help you understand your defenses and how to manage them in the moment. It will also help you create more successful feedback meetings with employees as you better sense their receptivity.
Course Objective(s): Participants will understand how to
- unpack the dense concept of “feedback”
- recognize/articulate natural resistance to feedback
- define tools to engage in feedback with confidence and curiosity
- leverage this knowledge to better deliver feedback
Prerequisites: The method of presentation is group-live instruction and the program level is basic. There are no prerequisites for this course nor is there any advanced preparation required.
