Don’t let a construction industry sales tax audit throw a wrench in your client’s gears! Despite the 2020 economic slowdown, Texas construction activity continues at a fast pace. And whether Texas is shut down or open for business, the Texas Comptroller has been ramping up his audits of contractors as well as others who develop, improve and remodel real estate.
Attend this two-hour session, where we will lay the groundwork for you to represent contractors, subcontractors and others involved in real estate construction. Learn the nuts and bolts of Texas sales tax for this industry, including how to distinguish:
- real property improvements vs. other activities;
- repair/remodeling vs. new construction; and
- separated vs. lump sum contract pricing.
Course Objective(s): Participants will receive the above updates on Texas sales tax for the construction industry in order to better advise their clients.
